The formal dining, measuring a very usable 17' x 16' room, already comes with a built-in hutch. It is located at the rear of the house and overlooks the side yard. For large family gatherings you can set up a second table so that everyone can be seated in the same room.
This alternate view of the dining room gives a better sense of the space you have to work with and how light fills the room. The two doors of the far wall lead into the sunroom. On a spring or autumn evening, the two rooms can be thus combined to create an even larger space with great flow for entertaining.
You can see the sunroom through the open doors.Alternatively, you can wall in the doors if you'd like to have another wall to place your furnishings against or wallhangings on.
This third view of the room reveals a tray ceiling with wood insert- a nice change from the bland, smooth plaster/wall board ceilings in most houses. Also, if you have your own hutch, it can be placed along this wall.
The built-in hutch features several cabinet doors for easy access, glass shelving, and recessed lighting. On this side of the hutch are light switches, a central vac port, and a thermostat for the heat and air. You pas through the opening on the near right to access the sitting and living rooms. The doorway to the far left leads into the kitchen.
Here is a close-up view of the atrium. Notice the faucet on the wall. This is a great place to fill your watering can or to create your own indoor garden.
Your plants are bathed in light from the wall of glass and skylight above. The faucet is in plain sight from this angle. Other features of this room include recessed lighting, window treatments, and hardwood flooring.
